Good News Stories
During the Regeneration Programme, YourMK has had the pleasure of working with a broad range residents across Milton Keynes, engaging in lots of different ways within the community.
A key success story has been the formation of the residents associations of Serpentine Court (S.C.S.G.) and Fullers Slade (F.S.R.S.G.).
S.C.S.G. (Serpentine Court Steering Group)
The group have recently designed their own logo, which will be used to brand their own documents, papers and event materials. The logo was designed by the group, making use of their own amazing artistic talents.
Chair: Danielle Slaymaker "I have lived in Serpentine Court for 11 years and as a mum of 3, being involved is very important to me. I can be a voice for residents and help mould the regeneration for our future"
Vice Chair: Sharon Jordan "I have lived in Milton Keynes for 19 years and in Serpentine Court for 15 years. I put myself forward to be vice chair to help others in Serpentine Court, to improve the way we live through regeneration"
Vice Chair: Cassy Elliott "I have lived in Serpentine Court for 10 years, I have 2 children and I also work in the local shop. The Lakes Estate is a lovely place however Serpentine Court is an eyesore that needs improving"
Serpentine Court Residents Group (S.C.S.G.) is made up of residents and businesses from Serpentine Court. Supported by independent advisors, Tpas. The group plays a central role in the regeneration of the area. They scrutinise and advise on YourMK’s engagement and with residents, ensuring they are fully included as a key partner in the regeneration process.
The S.C.S.G . Chair attends and contributes to the monthly Regeneration project board meetings, updates on arising issues and communicates key messgaes. The SCSG have helped organize and run all the public events on Serpentine Court, to date, and are currently championing a high profile initiative to tackle the waste/refuse issues and antisocial behavior on the Lakes Estate. This work has included successful working with key Council members, Councillors and YourMK staff.
F.S.R.S.G. (Fullers Slade Regeneration Steering Group)

Chair: Sylvia Airs "I have lived here for 21 years. My previous careers have been as a specialist Counsellor and manager of an unemployment training centre. I am passionate about empowering others"
Vice Chair: Sheridan Jones " I am the vice chair of the Fullers Slade Resident Steering Group (RSG) I have lived on Fullers for four years now. I really enjoy helping people, like I do in my job, as a service desk advisor for B&Q"
The F.S.R.S.G. (Fullers Slade Regeneration Steering Group) is made up of about 15 residents from all tenancies. They are supported by PPCR, your independent advisors. The group plays a central role in the regeneration of the area. They scrutinise and advise on YourMK’s engagement with residents, making sure residents are a key partner in the process.
New Community Partnership Officer, Debbie Murray has very recently been welcomed into Fullers Slade Regeneration in April 2018. Working hard to engage to residents, Debbie has been busy making and delivering a brand new F.S.R.S.G. Newsletter to Fullers Slade residents.
Debbie isn't afraid of getting stuck in and helping out with the Rowans Family Centre garden.
