What's the condition of the council housing in Milton Keynes?

At YourMK, all decisions we make are based on the most up to date information.  That's why YourMK has just completed a survey of all council owned homes to inform our decisions about what work needs to be done and when. This housing survey is called a Stock Condition Survey

The stock condition survey that we carried out between September 2016 and April 2017 showed us that on the whole, the condition of council owned homes in Milton Keynes is poor.  Although there are pockets of better quality housing in some areas, it is clear that there is going to be increasing financial demands on the available budget.

The data shows us that:

Pennington Choices were selected following a competitive tender process to gather housing condition data of Milton Keynes Council owned properties.  Established in 2000, the company is a member of the Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and has vast experience in supporting public and private sector organisations with a wide range of services.  With their highly skilled surveyors, Pennington Choices surveyed over 7,000 council-owned homes in Milton Keynes, looking at the condition of kitchens, bathrooms, heating, roofs and electrics.

The information captured by Pennington’s is being analysed to inform future decisions on where and when to invest in council homes in Milton Keynes
